Busquets unsure of Spain future as he eyes Euro 2020 glory

Sergio Busquets expects this to be his last European Championship with Spain, but the midfielder has not decided when to end his international career.

Busquets lifted the World Cup in 2010 and played his part in La Roja s Euro 2012 triumph nine years ago.

The Barcelona player has another major trophy in his sights, with Spain taking on Italy in the semi-final of Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Spain captain Busquets has thought about his future with the national team at the age of 32 but says beating the Azzurri is the only thing on his mind for now.

He told AS: You have to think about when to finish your cycle. What I have in mind is that this will be the last European Championship and then it depends.

You have to go step by step,…

Report: Postiga to miss rest of Euro 2012

Injured Portugal forward Helder Postiga has been ruled out of the remainder of Euro 2012, according to reports.

The 29-year-old sustained a thigh injury and was promptly replaced by Besiktas striker Hugo Almeida five minutes before half-time in Thursday s 1-0 quarter-final win over the Czech Republic.

The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed the nature of the injury and it was initially believed Postiga would only miss the semi-finals.

However, rumours have begun to circulate that the knock is much more serious than expected and that the striker will not play again at the tournament, according to Record.

Postiga entered the record books in the Group B 3-2 victory against Denmark, joining a special club of players who have scored at three different Eu…

German pay TV channel says on the blink until 2011

German pay-TV channel Premiere, recently saved from bankruptcy by US media baron Rupert Murdoch, said it would not return to profitability until 2011 as subscriber numbers plunge.

Premiere said its net loss in the first three months of the year was nearly four times worse than during the same period last year at 80 million euros (108 million dollars), compared to 28.1 million euros in 2008.

The channel continued to bleed subscribers, with 2.37 million at the end of March, 28,000 fewer than at the end of 2008.

Premiere has been struggling since losing the rights to show German top-flight football in 2005, although it recently secured the rights for the next four seasons.

The firm was saved from bankruptcy in December by Murdoch, whose News Corp now owns 3…

Benzema glad to see Mbappe bury his latest penalty: What happened at Euro 2020 has been erased

Karim Benzema has revealed he asked Kylian Mbappe to take France s penalty against Belgium in Thursday s Nations League semi-final so his team-mate could banish the memories of missing from the spot at Euro 2020.

Mbappe missed the crucial kick in France s shoot-out defeat to Switzerland in June s Euro 2020 last-16 tie as Les Blues suffered a shock early exit from a tournament they were deemed favourites to win.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward made no mistake from 12 yards against Belgium, though, thumping the ball into the top-right corner to level things up before Theo Hernandez s late winner set up a showdown with Spain in Sunday s final.

Benzema started France s comeback from two goals down and the Real Madrid striker was more than happy to let Mbappe take th…

On this day in 2014: William Gallas retires at age of 37

On this day in 2014, former France, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham defender William Gallas retired at the age of 37.

After beginning his career with Caen, Gallas moved to Marseille before being signed by the Blues in 2001.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, the defender won two Premier League titles under manager Jose Mourinho, but left under a cloud in 2006 when he joined Arsenal as part of the Ashley Cole transfer the other way.

Gallas then spent four years with the Gunners and was made captain by Arsene Wenger before moving to Tottenham in 2010.

He spent three seasons with Spurs before transferring to Australian A-League side Perth Glory, his final domestic club.

Representing France, Gallas won 84 caps for Les Bleus and played in their 2006 Wo…

Week 8 NFL Parlay Picks: Jets Without Liftoff vs Bengals

There are 11 games on the NFL Week 8 betting schedule with spreads of seven points or less, including a trio of key divisional games. While there’s always value to be found in betting the spread or total, we can find worthwhile bets in player props, too.

Here’s a look at my two favorite NFL parlay picks for Week 8.

Pittsburgh Steelers Odds, Predictions, and Betting Preview 2022: Pittsburgh's Luck Runs Out in 2022

If the oddsmakers are correct, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ reign of “terrible” in the AFC North is over.

The Steelers’ NFL odds have the team pegged to finish last in the division and the 2022 season win total of 7.5 is calling for Mike Tomlin’s first losing season during this 16-year tenure in Pittsburgh.

Pushing against that opinion is one of the best defensive units in the league and an offense working under someone other than Ben Roethlisberger for the first time since Usher and Lil Jon had us screaming “Yeah!” in the club. Yep, it’s been that long.

Here’s our Pittsburgh Steelers 2022 betting preview.

Chiefs vs Cardinals Preseason Picks and Predictions: Starters Give KC a Clear Edge

The Kansas City Chiefs managed to turn in arguably the best game of preseason Week 1 as they fell 26-24 to the New Orleans Saints on a last-second field goal from rookie kicker Blake Grupe.

This week, the Chiefs will try to rebound against an Arizona Cardinals team that beat the Denver Broncos 18-17 in new head coach Jonathan Gannon’s debut, thanks to a touchdown and a two-point conversion with under 10 seconds to go.

While the Cardinals remain without Kyler Murray at the helm, Andy Reid plans to play his starters, including Patrick Mahomes, for the entire first half… which gives the defending Super Bowl winners the clear edge.

Find out where my best bets lie in our NFL picks and predictions for Chiefs vs. Cardinals on Saturday, August 19.<…

Commanders vs Seahawks Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 10: Closer Than They Appear

It’s a coast-to-coast contest when the Washington Commanders cross the country to face the Seattle Seahawks and settle the Week 10 odds.

Washington earned just its second win in the last seven outings at New England last weekend and now travels for the second straight game, which also serves as its fourth road trip in the past five weeks.

Seattle, on the other hand, is still stinging from its worst showing of the season. The Seahawks were blasted by 30 points in Baltimore last time out and hope the return home can help them cover the NFL odds before a daunting schedule stretch ahead.

I break down the spread and Over/Under total for this 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff and give my free NFL picks and predictions for Commanders at Seahawks on November 12.
